Westwood Specialty Care is designed for providing excellent health care for seniors in a homelike setting. Our dedicated staff work as a team with each patient’s primary physician and family to develop a personal plan of care. We offer a full range of professional services, including 24-hour nursing services provided by a dedicated, caring and skilled staff. Our clean, comfortable and safe environment is warm and inviting. Our bedrooms are colorful and spacious. We provide three attractive and appealing meals a day plus snacks and accommodate special diet needs. Westwood offers specialized activities to meet the needs and interests of the people we serve. Activities are provided in-house and outside the center. Our residents stay connected to the community by attending events within the community, by dining in local restaurants and by enjoying community theater. We employ a full-time social worker to assist both residents and their families. Our therapy department offers top-notch physical, occupational and speech therapy services. We are proud of our record of returning 33 percent of our residents to their own homes because of the high quality of our therapy services. Come visit us! Westwood Specialty Care is an 85-bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation services, skilled nursing care, long term care and hospice care. We are a part of Care Initiatives, Iowa’s largest not-for-profit skilled nursing and long term care provider. Westwood Specialty Care accepts Medicare and Medicaid. We are also a contracted provider for the Veterans Affairs Community Nursing Home Program.
