Forwood Estates Senior Living doesn't state a community fee, a move-in fee or the size of any care charge on its community and care-level pages, so ask for the rent, the care charge and any one-time fee as three separate numbers when you request pricing.

Fifteen, and the operator labels each with its care level. Thirteen at Forwood Estates Senior Living are independent living, twelve of them lettered A1, B, C, D, E, F, G1, H, L, M, N and O, plus a studio, and two are assisted living, one lettered C and one described as an efficiency. The letters are codes and the operator does not say what any of them means, so no bedroom count can be read from them. Ask what each letter is and what it costs.

The $4,400 is the independent living starting price on the community's own independent living page, so it is the number to plan around if your parent lives independently. It isn't the assisted living price: that level starts at $6,200 a month on its own page at Forwood Estates Senior Living, and that page says the figure is base rent only with Level of Care charges not included. Either figure is a starting point rather than a quote, so ask what it includes for the apartment your parent would actually take and, for assisted living, what the care charge adds on top.

Two specific incidents stand out. A family thanks the maintenance crew at Forwood Estates Senior Living for hand trucks, dollies and bins and for helping clear a father's apartment at a difficult time. A separate reviewer credits the kitchen staff for staying on site through a winter storm so that residents had support through it. Others describe the apartments and common areas as clean and well kept, one saying the apartments were the best they saw after touring many communities.

The operator's own community page for Forwood Estates Senior Living names independent living and assisted living only and does not mention respite, which is worth settling before you count on it. Ask Forwood Estates Senior Living directly whether short stays are available, and if they are, ask for the minimum stay and the nightly rate.
