Welcome to The Greens at Lima Convalescent Home, a new concept in long term care. Our two beautiful family-style homes provide full skilled nursing care in a home setting where elders and others enjoy excellent quality of life and quality of care; where they, their families, and the staff engage in meaningful relationships built on equality, empowerment, and mutual respect; where people want to live and work; and where all are protected, sustained, and nurtured.

Each home accommodates twelve elders, who each enjoy a spacious, private room with a bathroom. The great room is a warm and inviting place to visit and enjoy the many activities. There’s a den stocked with books for quiet time. All meals are home cooked in the gourmet kitchen and served in the elegant dining area, and there’s even a spa and beauty salon in each home. Each residence has a staff dedicated to that house and they become part of the family. They are licensed to provide the greatest health care and cognitive needs. They also give personal care, prepare and serve meals, and perform housekeeping and laundry duties. Activities of personal interest are planned by the elders and staff. There is a strong sense of community and ownership, much like we experience in our own homes. Safety features are state of the art including automatic lifts in each room.

We aim to provide elders with as much independence and freedom as they would have in a real home. They’re able to set their own daily routines and enjoy the comfort of a private room where they have a place for their personal belongings. In order to maintain the sense of community that gives our homes a family atmosphere, we work to deeply know your family, and your loved one’s needs to ensure that all members of the community are happy, healthy and safe.

It has been proven that in this type of home setting, elders maintain self-care abilities longer with fewer elders experiencing depression or a decline in daily living activities. The individual needs of our elders are being met because each person is well known and valued as a creative, resourceful and whole person. Everyday tasks, personal care, bathing and mealtime are seen as opportunities to support each other in decision making and meaningful engagement. People know each other like family.

We are guided by a volunteer board of trustees that live here and work here and all donations we receive are invested back into our facility to ensure our residents receive outstanding care and all the comforts of home.
