Each Aria Senior Living house offers both Assisted Living and Memory Care services. Unfortunately, there is a great deal of stigmas associated with Alzheimer’s disease. A report from Alzheimer’s Disease International stated that three-quarters of those with Dementia said others perceive them negatively. These stereotypes contribute to a lack of engagement and lead to isolation from family and friends.

Aria Senior Living works to combat the stigma of Alzheimer’s disease by engaging others in open and direct conversations, sharing accurate information that overcomes misconceptions and advocating for more support and research. We chose to not “overemphasize” the fact that we primarily serve those with memory impairments. Those we serve live in a house, not a unit or wing. Aria does not speak in terms of deficits and losses, which only further the fear and stigma of Alzheimer’s. We focus on the whole person and their ability to live a quality life.
