Kendal at Ithaca sits on a beautiful 105-acre campus in the midst of New York’s Finger Lakes region. Our location, near Cornell University and Ithaca College, ensures easy access to extensive cultural, educational and recreational activities.

Kendal at Ithaca has 236 independent living units on our 105 acre campus: 167 cottages built within our perimeter road, and 69 apartments attached to the Community Center. They come in six sizes, ranging from a studio to a two bedroom with den.

Life in the Health Center encompasses a variety of social activities (including concerts, movies, parties, and celebrations). A large well staffed Activities Center and volunteers provide an ongoing source of engagement and entertainment. Lounges with cozy fireplaces and books provide welcoming nooks where residents may entertain guests. Bird aviaries, movies, discussion groups, celebrations, jigsaw puzzles, and art exhibits provide opportunities for diversion. In good weather, interior courtyards bloom with color and inviting benches.

Health Center residents have private rooms and baths and bring their own furniture and favorite possessions. Kendal’s noninstitutional design enhances the quality of everyday life: floors are carpeted, there is no public address system, and visiting is not restricted by established hours. Making the decision to move to the Health Center is a team process, and each resident is assured of full partnership in the making of such a decision.
