MISSION STATEMENT Pennswood Village, a caring community guided by Quaker principles and traditions, leading the way in the provision of residential and healthcare services to those age 65 and older. PURPOSES AND COMMITMENTS We value each person’s right to self-determination and the dignity and worth of each and how they contribute to the Community. We: Welcome the diversity of women and men of all races, colors, national origins, religious beliefs and sexual orientations; Operate a continuing care retirement community and campus of Pennswood Village; Extend the Mission to the wider community beyond the physical campus; Employ, educate and nurture a staff who appreciate the aging process and who show an understanding and respect for this process in personal and professional interactions with those served; Recognize that residents and others served are a vital part of an ongoing association with corporate directors and staff who are united in a sense of responsibility to each other and the broad community; Provide opportunities for continuing growth and well-being in mind, body and spirit; Develop and sustain intergenerational relationships with neighboring schools and organizations; Make use of the cultural and educational advantages of its location; Collaborate with other organizations in the development of programs and services that enhance this Mission.
