Valley Mental Health in Valley Falls, KS Offers both nursing and mental health care. Valley Mental Health is certified for Medicaid and HCBS (Home and Community-Based Services) providing Respite, Short term, Long term, residential care and independent living opportunities. Daily needs of the residents are provided by professional and dedicated nursing staff members who believe in the dignity of the individual. Facility staff recognizes that each person has physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs, as well as rights, which must be respected and never violated. Valley Mental Health is committed to making every attempt to help each resident maintain or improve his or her current physical and mental conditions.
Valley Mental Health offers a menu selection for the residents’ dining needs. The facility offers therapeutic diets that are planned, prepared and served with supervision or consultation from a qualified dietician. Menus are planned in advance and are sufficient to meet the nutritional needs of the residents. Menus vary each day and are adjusted for seasonal change.
Valley Mental Health offers a wide range of activities and group outings on a daily and weekly basis. Facility activities encourage intellectual educational development through literature, lectures, movies and cultural events. Valley Health Care Center provides a calender of events for each month to ensure all residents have a chance to prepare for the upcoming months’ events.
Valley Mental Health offers a variety of in-house and outside services for residents looking to take charge of their lives. The in-house groups offered include Money Management, Medication Management, Stress Management, Anger Management, Life Skills, and Drug & Alcohol group. Valley Mental Health utilizes the North East Kansas Mental Health and Guidance Center for its outside counseling services. Additionally, we offer residents the option to work within the facility and utilize the facility’s Therapeutic Task Program.
Valley Mental Health offers qualifying residents the option to live in a safe nursing home environment and enjoy the freedom of an assisted living arrangement. VFCC offers its residential health care tenants the same dedicated nursing, dining and activity staff as VHCC nursing home residents, as well as the option to utilize outside services of their choice (i.e. physicians, pharmacy, etc.)
