Deaconess-Zane Center

Deaconess-Zane Center is a six-story apartment community specifically designed for older adults at least 62 years of age and a limited number of non-elderly disabled individuals 18 years and older. There are 64 one-bedroom units, five efficiency units and one unit for a live-in custodian. Three of the one-bedroom units and all five of the efficiency units are handicap accessible designed to benefit the mobility impaired and the building is equipped for those who are hearing and/or visually impaired. The community is located in Cleveland’s historic Old Brooklyn neighborhood on the near west side and is in close proximity to a post office, pharmacies, restaurants, retail business, churches, medical and dental offices, and public transportation. The community neighbors the MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus and Senior Health and Wellness Center where there is access to physicians of many different specialties as well as a pharmacy, beauty shop, and a cafeteria. Deaconess-Zane Center has a spacious lobby area and community room on the first floor that has ample seating areas and abundant amounts of natural light where they can socialize with friends and neighbors, play games or build puzzles, play the organ, or watch their favorite shows on a 56-inch big screen TV. Deaconess-Zane Center is a subsidized housing community for seniors age 62 & over as well as a limited number of non-elderly disabled individuals 18 years and older. The term “subsidized housing” means that the rent is based on income. A community resident pays approximately 30% of their income as rent.
