Hope Haven is Kingman’s newest Assisted Living Home that opened Tuesday April 3rd, 2018 with our 1st house @ 2615 Chambers Ave. At this location we have 7 beds consisting of five private rooms and one semi-private room. We are overjoyed to share with you that our 2nd location just recently opened November 24th, 2021 @ 1025 E Sunrise Ave. This location is called Hope Haven @ Helens Place. At this home we have 10 beds consisting of 3 shared rooms and 4 private bedrooms all with their own bathrooms. Our Mission is to provide exceptional care to those that are no longer able to care for themselves, in a home like setting that harbors dignity, love and respect to our residents, staff and families. Our Vision is to set a new standard of elder care in our community that gives hope of happier days to come through lessening the guilt and stress associated with this difficult yet precious time of life.

Our staff will provide 24-hour care to our residents. The staff consists of one registered nurse and 14 certified caregivers. Our caregivers will provide assistance with all activities of daily living, making three homecooked meals a day including snacks. Our caregivers will engage the residents in daily activities and ensure a comfortable environment for our residents and their families. Hope Haven’s caregivers will use techniques by the occupational therapist and dementia and Alzheimer’s advocate, Teepa Snow. This dream of opening an assisted living facility started in 2003 when I worked in the activities department at a local care facility. The dream became a reality in April 2017 when I found the perfect house to call Hope Haven. Soon after, my Nannie, Cookie Mahan started needing more care than my Papa, Henry Mahan, could provide for her. I felt a rush to have Hope Haven open to care for her. As a family we were all unexpectedly thrown into the caregiver role, and all of the stress, guilt, and emotion that comes with it. Being in this situation made it even more clear to me that we needed Hope Haven in our community. Unfortunately, we did not open in time and both of my grandparents passed away. It took us 1 year, almost to the day, to open our assisted living. Looking back now I know it was all in God’s time, not mine. This dream could have never evolved into a reality if it had not been for my family & friends helping us; from hands on help with the preparations to feeding us dinners and watching our kids while we worked.
