Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab joined the Kissito Healthcare family in January 2020 and has flourished under their compassionate leadership and dedicated care teams. Today, Mulberry Creek is proud to be a Five-Star Rated Skilled Nursing Facility, as recognized by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Recently, Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab was named as one of America’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 by Newsweek. Only 15 skilled nursing facilities in Virginia were named to the list. Our 210-bed skilled nursing, therapy, and long-term care center has been beautifully renovated to enhance private room availability, expand and modernize therapy gyms, and upgrade amenities throughout the building. All dining rooms and common areas have been refreshed to create a warm, home-like environment where residents and families feel comfortable and cared for. Mulberry Creek Nursing & Rehab also received the Bronze National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) — an honor earned by only 17 skilled nursing facilities in Virginia. In 2023, we proudly expanded our services to include ventilator and tracheostomy (trach) care, becoming a vital resource for individuals requiring specialized respiratory support. Our center offers 20 designated beds for ventilator and trach care, staffed by an expert team of respiratory therapists (RTs) and skilled nursing professionals. Respiratory care at Mulberry Creek is a true collaborative effort. Our entire team supports RTs in delivering quality outcomes and follows the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) guidelines to help residents reach their highest potential for ventilator weaning and rehabilitation. Whether helping a resident transition off the ventilator or ensuring the best possible quality of life while on it, our RTs and interdisciplinary team take great pride in every success story. Our comprehensive care model brings together physicians, nurse practitioners, licensed nurses, and therapists who work closely with residents and families to create personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s medical needs, goals, and life experiences.
