Residents may choose from three styles of semi-furnished private rooms on one of three levels – there is a room type to fit almost everyone’s preferences. With only 45 beds, Shook Home is analogous to the small, close-knit communities of our youth. Meals are served in a dining room complete with a steam table and “restaurant style” point-of-service. There is even an in-house Beauty Salon & Barber Shop staffed by a licensed beautician. Whether afflicted by a chronic, progressive condition or suffering from an acute illness or traumatic injury, the Shook Home provides the professional medical services to meet almost everyone’s needs. Long-term placement is an option for those who can no longer be cared for in the community while short-term placement is available to prepare residents to return home following a hospital stay or simply to give in-home caregivers a break. Hospice care is also available to care for residents with terminal illnesses.
