BHI Senior Living

BHI Senior Living is a faith-based, non-profit organization operating Life Plan Communities and Active Adult Communities throughout the Midwest. Founded in 1904 with a land donation that became an orphanage and industrial school, BHI transitioned to senior living in 1952 with the opening of its first Life Plan Community, Hoosier Village.

BHI's mission is to enhance the quality of life for older adults in a secure environment that supports their needs, values, interests, and independence, while encouraging personal and spiritual development. While rooted in the American Baptist community, BHI welcomes residents of all faiths, denominations, and backgrounds, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, or national origin.

BHI emphasizes responsible stewardship of resources and strong financial practices, earning a BBB+ rating from Fitch. This financial stability allows them to provide residents with a fulfilling lifestyle, a full continuum of healthcare, and long-term security, including benevolent care if needed. Their financial strength is attributed to the expertise and conservative fiscal approach of their management team and board.

The BHI Foundation supports the organization's mission by contributing to community projects both within BHI communities and in their surrounding cities, enhancing residents' quality of life and fostering good neighbor relationships.

BHI communities offer various lifestyle options and price points, featuring maintenance-free apartment and cottage homes (depending on the location), a range of amenities and services, pet-friendly environments, full-time chaplains, and on-site continuum of care services, including assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation.
