According to the “History of Redding,” the community is located on the site of the former Gilbert Farm, owned by Edwin Gilbert. Gilbert’s father founded the Gilbert & Bennett factory, which produced wire mesh cloth and operated until the 1980s, when operations were moved elsewhere. Meadow Ridge was founded by David Reis, who envisioned a community that would offer a superior level of style and services for discerning individuals.
